Well, I made it to Alaska!! I arrived in one piece, but it was a rocky ride. My flight was set to leave at 6 am on the 17th, so me and my parents leave the house at 4 and hang out at the airport for a little bit, then said our goodbyes :( It was bittersweet. Six comes along and we still aren't boarding the plane, and come to find out one of the bathrooms on the plane wasn't working so they had to get a part flown in to fix it before we could leave, putting us behind atleast 3 hours. We had to be to Anchorage by 2 pm to catch our shuttle (that we had already paid for and HAD to get on) to Denali, which was a 15 min drive from the airport. So I talked to them and they tried re-routing us, but all the flights leaving the airport to seattle were completely full. They said our plane might leave PHX a little earlier than expected, so I looked online to find another flight from Seattle to Anchorage to see what time we could get there. I found a 12:00 flight, but they said they couldn't get us to Seattle by 12:00. This morning just kept getting better! I was really frustrated and didn't get any sleep at all the night before, it was just a mess! So then the plane got done sooner, and as we were boarding I asked them about switching my flight from Seattle to the 12:00 flight, and they said they couldn't promise I could get on it and if I did they couldn't promise that my baggage would get there at the same time, luggage was already on the plane but if ours wasn't yet then they could re-route it but we wouldn't know til we get to Anchorage. Still following me?! This is just crazy. So we get to Seattle and we even landed a few mins earlier than expected at take-off in PHX!! YAY!!! Me and Britt were really excited and things started looking up! So people on that flight were really cool and let us be almost the first people off the plane. We got off the plane and booked it to another terminal and got to the 12:00 flight and they had room for us :) :) :) So we get on, and keep praying like we were both doing all morning, praying that we will get on that shuttle by 3. We land in Anchorage a little earlier than expected, and we get to the baggage claim, and guess what... OUR LUGGAGE WAS THERE!!!! Both of our bags were like the first bags to get on the carousel!! I had called Jenni, the HR person at the resort that booked our flight and everything, telling her that we may not make it. So I called her again and said we just landed and got out bags and she called the shuttle and told them we were on our way. I called Jody, the girl that was going to pick us up at the airport, and she got us there like right at 3. We were the last ones on the shuttle, and for the first time that day I could relax. It was a CRAZY day!!!!!!! Anyways, so we are here, and I am LOVING IT! It is beautiful up here, I have fallen in love. I have worked a ton and have got a lot of overtime already, but I have also had a blast already. I went white water rafting last night and got addicted, we are going again on Thursday. The weather is awesome, freezing cold in the morning and then warm in the afternoon. It is so nice that I get to miss the AZ summer haha. I have met a lot of friends with many different accents, and I have caught myself talking in wierd accents already! Anyways, I have to be on the 3:30 bus to be to work by 4 so I gotta go and get a couple hours of sleep. Love you all at home and miss you guys, but September will come fast ;)
