Flew The Coop!
Well Saturday I packed up my car and my Dad's truck, and headed off to college! I am now in Thatcher, renting a house with 3 other girls. Boy have we had a good time so far! When I got here, we unpacked and then my parents took me grocery shopping and hooked me up with food, then we said our goodbyes. That was the wierdest thing I have EVER experienced in my life! I am still trying to get used to the fact that I am now on my own. It is fun to be on your own, but immediately I started feelin the stresses. I laid on my bed before my roommates got home from work and just thought to myself "wow, this is wierd. I have to really budget, I have rent to pay!" I had orientation and training at Western Wats on Monday, and started on Tuesday. I am still getting used to the whole calling thing, but I am sure I will get used to it soon. Sunday night was really wierd. I started to miss my family that night, I wouldn't call it homesick, but I sure do miss everyone, and especially my awesome niece and nephews. I look forward to getting some pictures of them in the mail!!! (Deena and Jenny, Camilla already has so you should jump on that too!!) I am doing great, and having a good time so far, and still missing everyone at home, even though I'm only a few hours away. The ward here is awesome. Church was great on Sunday. Monday night I went to FHE and had a fun time, and last night I went to enrichment. I have been meeting new people and havin fun with it! Institute here is different than in Mesa. In the summer there is institute mon-friday from 12-1, and there aren't very many people there. In Mesa we usually fill 2 rooms, but I haven't seen one room get filled yet here in Thatcher. Well, I don't have internet in my house, so I have to come to the media center here on campus to use it, but I will keep this updated the best I can. Sorry I don't have any pictures yet of Thatcher, but I will get some as soon as I can :)

Oh Elsie I'm so excited for you! When I was reading your posting it totally brought back the memories of when my parents dropped me off at NAU and those first few nights of being on my own. It is a very strange feeling but a great feeling. Be smart, CTR, and always remember who you are. There are tons of people near and far that love you to death so always remember that. Good luck with your classes!! Keep us posted. We miss yoU!
Love you tonz,
Taryn
I love it that your mom is still being a mom on here. That is great. She is so swell. Sounds like you are involved in lots of fun stuff to keep you out of trouble, or is it just so you can meet guys?
Elyse-
It sounds like you are having a blast. I'm sooo proud of you. Preschool just isn't the same without you! I hope you'll come visit us when you are back in town. I'm so excited to say this is my first "blog" experience. I might just have to make one myself.
Be well girl and know I'm always here for you--I know a thing or two about college life you know:)
I started my own MCC class this week and I have to say I LOVED IT!
Hope you are having as much fun as I am!
Kathy
